What to wear to a spa day

Spa days are a wonderful way to relax and unwind whilst being pampered head to toe. But one of the most common questions asked is what should I wear to a spa?

We’ve put together a handy guide breaking down what to wear to a spa day and what you should bring along to make your relaxing day go smoothly.

What do you wear to a spa?

The key thing to remember when deciding what to wear when you go to your spa day is that comfort is king! Most spas want you to be comfortable and relaxed, so arrive wearing loose, comfortable clothing like gym clothes, yoga pants and t-shirts.

Once you are changed, you’ll be spending most of your time in a robe anyway!

Tip: To make things a little easier, wear your swimsuit under your clothes so you can start your spa day as quickly as possible!

What to wear on your feet at a spa

Most spas offer slippers or flip-flops for your visit. At Bicester Hotel Golf and Spa, you’ll get a pair of comfortable slippers which you can wear for the duration of your spa day.

What to wear for a full-body massage

If you have a full body massage booked, you just need to arrive in your robe and your swimsuit underneath. The massage therapist will leave the room and let you get comfortable on the massage table. This may involve taking your swimsuit off, but you can always ask the therapist if that is necessary.

Where can I put my belongings?

Don’t worry, there will be lockers on site so you can leave all your valuables and belongings somewhere safe, so you can relax and enjoy yourself.

What do I need to take to a spa day?

There are some bare essentials you should take to your spa day to ensure you have everything you need for both during and after your relaxing day!

  • Swimsuit: Essential for pools, saunas, and hot tubs.
  • Change of Clothes: Comfortable attire for after your treatments or if the spa has a gym, you could bring some spare gym clothes too.
  • Footwear: Easy-to-remove shoes or flip-flops are handy.
  • Hair Ties: To keep your hair out of the way during treatments.
  • Toiletries: Travel-sized deodorant, hairbrush, dry shampoo, facial wipes, and any personal skincare products.
  • Book or Magazine: For some quiet reading time in relaxation areas.
  • Water Bottle: There will be water at the spa but bring a bottle to help limit waste!

Summary

Remember: comfort is king at the spa! So whatever you decide to wear for your spa day, just remember to wear clothes that are comfortable and loose.
